What is ‘Shincheonji’ according to the Bible?

I wanted to write this post today because I am aware that there are some who do not yet understand about New Heaven and New Earth (Shincheonji). What I have heard and read online by those who misunderstand is really saddening, because for me Shincheonji is my family, my church – it’s where my heart finds hope, joy and true connection with God!

(Please read my second post called ‘my story’ if you haven’t already!)

To best explain why there are some who understand and welcome Shincheonji, and why there are also those who don’t’, I would like to share something that Jesus said:

Matt 13:10-15
The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”
He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. This is why I speak to them in parables:
“Though seeing, they do not see;
Though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
“You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
   you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
For this people’s heart has become calloused;
   they hardly hear with their ears,
And they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
   hear with their ears,
   understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’

This verse explains that there are those who are the ‘you’ group, who the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven are given to. Also there are those who are the ‘them’ group, who even though they see and hear about heaven, they do not understand because their hearts are hardened.

Jesus shared that the knowledge of the secrets of heaven was spoken by him in parable, therefore, if one understands the parables, they will be able to recognise the fulfilment and find the kingdom of heaven! However, if one does not – opposite to what many may believe – they will not be able to recognise Jesus’ return and the kingdom of heaven, even if it is right in front of them.

Wasn’t this the same at Jesus’ first coming, when those who didn’t understand the scriptures correctly didn’t recognise him then either?

John 5:39-40
You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.

To begin to understand about Shincheonji, one must then understand the parables in the Bible properly - and in doing so, this is what enables one to see, hear and understand the work of the kingdom of God that is spiritual.

I will explain the name of my church with this point.

Rev 21:1
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

What hope do we have in Jesus’ return if the earth that we live in literally passes away? And why would God contradict what he says in Ecclesiastes?

Ecc 1:4
Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever.

However, if we understand that ‘heaven and earth’ are parable for the ‘tabernacle and people of God’, then it makes more sense that the ‘first heaven and earth’ that pass away are the old generation of the tabernacle and people of God that fall away from Him, and the ‘new heaven and new earth’ that appears is the generation of the new tabernacle and new people who God is with instead.

Rev 13:5-7 Heaven: God’s tabernacle (church)
Rev 13:8 Earth: members of the tabernacle (people)

So from this example, it becomes clear the two totally different perspectives of those who understand the parables and those who do not. (**Note: parables must be explained using scriptures themselves to be considered the true meaning).

In later posts I will tackle more FAQ so that you can become more aware of the truth about Shincheonji, however today I merely wanted to show you what ‘Shincheonji’ is according to the Bible.

In summary:

Shincheonji (Korean) = New Heaven New Earth (English) = God’s New Tabernacle and New people.

The hope of belonging to New Heaven and New Earth at the time of Revelation is stated I the following verse:

Rev 21:1-5
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

The newly created generation of New Heaven and New Earth - Shincheonji – that Jesus has established at the time of Revelation (today) is the new tabernacle and people of God whom Heaven in the spiritual realm is promised to come down to and dwell with forever! It is the kingdom of Heaven on the earth where God has His throne and where He can begin to take back His rightful reign over the earth from too!

Please realise in Matt 13:15 as shown above, if one was to have an open and seeking heart to understand the truth instead of it being calloused and closed, then they would be able to see, hear and understand about the kingdom of Heaven!
