What does it take to know Revelation?

Revelation is a book that many avoid, or, many make up their own thoughts about. There are also many conspiracy theories spoken about too. Why?

Revelation’s meaning is hidden in parables! It’s meaning is actually literally unknown!

In the Bible Jesus explains that there is a time when Revelation will not be understood by anyone in all of heaven and earth – hence why there are so many different thoughts/theories/assumptions/fears (Rev 5:3).

At the appointed time when Revelation fulfills, Jesus said there will be a way that one can know the meaning of the parables plainly – that there will be one true testimony of Revelation available that will help believers know the truth! (Rev 1:1-3).

At the time of Revelation, Jesus returns, fulfills what is prophesied and creates the Kingdom of Heaven on the earth. But those who do not believe in the reality of what he prophesied will not be able to enter this Kingdom (Rev 22:18-19). Therefore it is important to know and understand the prophecies in the book of Revelation, and become those who can enter the Kingdom of Heaven!

What if the time to understand the truth about Revelation is now?!

Shincheonji Church of Jesus is able to explain the book of Revelation plainly so that everyone can understand. Why don’t you take some time to read and begin to understand more about Revelation for yourself too!

Did you know that Revelation cannot be understood just by anyone at any time?

Hab 2:3
3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
    it speaks of the end
    and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
    it will certainly come
    and will not delay.

Revelation is a book of prophecy, meaning it is a book that God promised to fulfil to his people at an appointed time (Hab 2:3). Within the prophecies in Revelation, Jesus’ 2nd coming and the establishment of the Kingdom of heaven through the harvest of the earth is prophesied. Until the prophecies are fulfilled, no one is able to know exactly what that will look like (Is 29:9-12)

Is 29:9-12
The LORD has brought over you a deep sleep:
    He has sealed your eyes (the prophets);
    he has covered your heads (the seers).
11 For you this whole vision is nothing but words sealed in a scroll. And if you give the scroll to someone who can read, and say, “Read this, please,” they will answer, “I can’t; it is sealed.” 12 Or if you give the scroll to someone who cannot read, and say, “Read this, please,” they will answer, “I don’t know how to read.

In Revelation 5 it shows how God, who wrote Revelation and who sits on his throne in heaven, holds the sealed scroll of Revelation in his right hand. Since Revelation was shown as a vision to Apostle John and written down by him 2,000 years ago, we can understand that God has been holding this scroll for 2,000 years, waiting for the appointed time to open and reveal its understanding in reality. Hence, for 2,000 years there had not been anyone in heaven or on earth who understood this book (Rev 5:3).

Rev 5:1-3
Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it.

This book of Revelation was the most secret book of all the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, which cannot be added to or subtracted from. Today, around 2,000 years since Revelation had been prophesied, Jesus took the sealed book from God’s hand (Rv 5), removed all of the seven seals, and fulfilled all of the contents of the promised prophecies recorded in the book (Rv 21:6).

Rev 5:6-9
6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits[a] of God sent out into all the earth. 7 He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:
You are worthy to take the scroll
    and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
    and with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.

Isn’t it true that in every era God (who is spirit) chooses a person (who is the vessel for the spirit) and commands them to testify to God’s people on his behalf? Yes indeed, think of Noah, Abraham, Moses, the Prophets, Jesus… Therefore to hear that this also happen at Revelation time shouldn’t be a surprise then!

When Jesus (who is spirit) returns to fulfil the work of his 2nd coming, he chooses a person called John (in parable this person is called John, in reality, a “new” John appears to fulfil what was prophesied). This person Jesus gives the opened word of Revelation too (Rev 10:8-11), and Jesus shows him how he has fulfilled Revelation accordingly in physical reality too. With the understanding and evidence of the prophecies and fulfilment of the book of Revelation, Jesus sends this person to the churches to testify so that all may know the hope of Jesus’ 2nd coming and the Kingdom of Heaven that Jesus has established too!

Rev 10:8-11
8 Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me once more: "Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land."
9 So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, "Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey."10 I took the little scroll from the angel's hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour.11 Then I was told, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings."

New John saw and heard when Jesus fulfilled the secrets of the kingdom of heaven prophesied in this book (Rv 1:1-2, Rv 22:8). Moreover, Jesus told New John, who saw all the events of the entire book of Revelation, to go and testify what he saw and heard to the churches (Rv 22:8, 16). Also, New John is the one who received and ate the open (revealed) book in Rv 10 (just like at the time of Jesus’ first coming, Ref. Ez 3 and Mt 15:24).

Rev 22:8,16
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me.
16 ...."I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."

So, what does it take to understand Revelation?

One must hear the testimony from the one who Jesus gave the meaning to, the one who is Jesus’ messenger (vessel for his spirit) and the one who Jesus is working through to fulfill his kingdom on the earth! Does Revelation testify another way? No!

New John’s testimony can be heard through Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony. A true believer is one who will read and realise God’s will through his word. I hope you will listen to the testimony of Revelation from New John, and be able to read and realise the fulfilment of Revelation for yourself too!

Let’s all become one and enter the kingdom of heaven together!

  1. This is true, I rather learn Revelation from someone who received it from God, as opposed to my or other people's thinking
