NZ Food Showcase: Red Seal Herbal Tea

Today’s feature NZ food item:

🔹 Red Seal: Herbal Tea 🔹

In my opinion: My every-day, go-to, full of flavour herbal tea brand!

These food blog posts are all about showcasing the food that contributes
to the everyday Kiwi cuisine! I share the food that we are familiar with, the brands that I recommend, and the ways to enjoy each food so that you can know all about the authentic Kiwi food experience too!

 🌻Description:

NZ health and wellness company Red Seal make simple and delicious herbal tea brews and blends, alongside other products such as oral care and supplements. Many of the tea products can be enjoyed as a hot or cold drink, and all are made using teabag filter paper that is biodegradable and compostable too!

🌻How to drink it:

Just pop the teabag in a cup and add hot or cold water. Let it brew (and cool down if you are drinking hot) for a few mins then enjoy! Keep the tea bag in like me if you want stronger flavour!

If you want to get fancy you can use certain flavours as a punch base, make homemade ice cubes set with a leaf of mint, or drink cold topped up with some lemonade!

My flavours of choice: I like to have a ‘Cleanse’ tea for my morning tea break at the school – however it is also helpful and soothing after a big meal too! The ‘Superfruits’ tea is also great for a mid afternoon or evening sweet flavour!

 🌻Where can it be purchased:

Your local supermarket (I like Countdown!)

🌻Cost (NZD, at time of purchase):

$4.50 for 20 tea bags

🌻How it has become a food item familiar to the NZ lifestyle:

For those who don’t drink tea/coffee (or have had enough for the day!), a herbal tea is a common hot drink option. A selection of herbal teas are often on hand when you go to a friends for a cuppa, and at most café’s too.

Bonus herbal fact:
Herbal teas in general are packed with antioxidants and other nutritious properties to help with colds, nausea, digestion, stress etc…
